Updates from Notch

Notch did two updates on his blog yesterday. One was about that he and his companions had finaly gotten settled in at their new office. At the moment there are five desks assembled along with two PCs (the once I wrote about yesterday) and one MacBook. And with three cumputer we can guess that there is one each for Marcus(Notch), Jakob and Daniel, where the Mac is for Daniel who's doing all the buisness thingys and doesn't need a "real" computer, hehe.

And the five desks hint that there are two more people to join Mojan in the near future! On of them wrote a short presentation yesterday which you can read HERE.

But to sum it up. His name is Jens Bergsten(Jeb) and has been working with programing most of his life. He's failed an attempt at higher studies in the young days but in 2008 he finished his master in cumputer science. He's been working on a few indie game productions earlier.

But as I said, there were two updates yesterday and this, the second one is the one that directly affect us players! And it's probably just easier if I bite the whole post from Notch's blog so there won't be any mistakes.

---------------------------

The few hours I’ve been able to work today, I tried getting SMP Health as complete as possible. It will be released early next week.
Here’s the status:
* Send attack network data: DONE
* Add the ability to attack other entities: DONE
* Implement falling damage: NOT STARTED
* Implement respawning for dead players: PARTIALLY DONE (there are bugs with the player keeping the current location in some circumstances instead )
* Make eating food regenerate health: DONE
* Send health updates to the players: DONE
The “attack entities” code is done on a general level, so you can hurt animals, monsters, boats, carts and even other players.
There are a couple of other tweaks in the next update as well:
* Fix leaves. Again: DONE
* Optimize the lighting update slowdowns: STARTED
* Make players riding carts or boats a long way receive terrain updates: DONE
* Fix the block re-spawning bug: NOT STARTED
* Add “pvp” toggle flag to the server settings: NOT STARTED.
--------------------------
So for all you out there playing alot of SMP, there are a lot of things to look forward to!
